“Choir Boy” announced a second extension Friday, now bringing its run to a close on March 10.

Jeremy Pope, who plays lead, Pharus Young, will leave the production on Feb. 24 to join the cast of the Broadway production of “Ain’t Too Proud,” which begins previews on Feb. 28. His understudy, Jonathan Burke, will take over the role for the final two weeks of the run.

The play, written by Tarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Trip Cullman, opened at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Jan. 8, 2019. It previously announced a one-week extension.
